This familiar hymn is set in an easy 6/8 groove, giving it a relaxed feel. After the solo Flute presents the melody, the Woodwinds and Strings join in, leading to a smooth key change as the brass announce the chorus. A gentle transition builds to a bold brass statement of "For the Beauty of the Earth" with the rest of the orchestra answering. As the music builds, the orchestra returns to a climactic statement of "This is My Father's World," with the Horns providing a soaring counter melody. The excitement gives way to the original 6/8 groove, bringing the piece to a close, with a Flute solo over a very colorful, and somewhat unexpected, chord.
